Cleaner - Brimhams Active Knaresborough

Location: Knaresborough Leisure and Wellbeing Centre
Salary: £11.59 per hour
Hours per week: Early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent, 18 hours

Brimhams Active is eager to welcome new cleaners to join our friendly and supportive team at our Knaresborough leisure centre.

You will work effectively as part of a team to ensure the high standard of cleaning and maintenance is sustained throughout the facility. Your excellent communication skills will help you in communicating with both colleagues and customers, advising of any hazards and your swift work will ensure that they are cleared quickly.   

Previous experience using and maintaining industrial cleaning tools and working with industrial chemicals are desirable, however training will be provided.

The shifts for the role are as follows:

  • Monday 10am – 1pm
  • Wednesday 10am – 1pm
  • Thursday 4pm – 10pm
  • Saturday 2pm – 8pm

In return we can offer you a range of benefits including competitive hourly rate of £11.59 p/h, 27 days leave (pro rata), Local Government Pension, full training provided where required, free uniform, swim and gym membership.

Health and Wellbeing Coach

Salary: £24,702 - £25,979 (pro rata)
Contract: Part time 25 hours per week, fixed term 31 December 2024
Location: Flexible working across Brimhams Active estate including Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Nidderdale

As the Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will be central to making this vision a reality

Working as part of the Brimhams Active team, we are looking for passionate individuals with the drive to develop and support our online Family Healthy Living Service for North Yorkshire (Healthy Families), in line with local health priorities. You will have the opportunity to monitor, evaluate and deliver on our Healthy Families service and liaise with our health and social care partners to to meet the needs of our community.

You will be experienced in working in a vibrant health focused environment with a passion for building effective partnerships to make the best use of local resources. Everything you do will have your clients interests at heart and you will provide them with the motivation and tools that they need to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.

Using the Brimhams five ways to wellness, you will develop, deliver and support families’ health and wellbeing and encourage behaviour change to incorporate healthier lifestyles. You will guide families through their journey by holding one-on-one sessions to provide nutritional advice, signpost to physical activity sessions and measure your clients progress to provide valuable feedback that will have a positive effect on their lives.

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will support the collaboration with other health professionals to provide an excellent service to families. You will be a real team player with a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Alongside this role, there may be the opportunity for you to take up additional duties in other areas of the business, allowing you to develop your skills and expertise while earning additional income.

No experience is necessary as full training could be provided.

Casual group exercise instructors

Location: Estate Wide, opportunities available at our Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centre, Harrogate Leisure and Wellness Centre and Jack Laugher Leisure and Wellness Centre (Ripon)

We are looking for passionate group exercise instructors to join our team and support the delivery of the Brimhams Active group exercise programme across our facilities on a casual basis.

You will have a recognised group exercise qualification in your area of delivery and be required to prepare the plan and deliver to a range of abilities.

We would encourage you to be proactive in generating new ideas for classes in conjunction with your own CPD to ensure we are offering our customers enjoyable and effective classes. The wellbeing of our customers will be at the heart of what you do and will perform all classes in accordance with our Health and Safety policy and procedure.

Your excellent communication skills will allow you to build a strong rapport with our clients, helping them to achieve their wellness and fitness goals, and encouraging behaviour change to incorporate healthier lifestyles. You will be a real team player with a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities by demonstrating our 5 ways to wellness model.
