Lifeguard

Location: Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centre and Starbeck Baths
Salary: £11.59 - £11.98 per hour
Hours per week: Part-time, 18 hours per week split between Knaresborough and Starbeck
Contract type: Permanent 

We are looking for a fun and passionate individual to join Brimhams Active as a Lifeguard to work at both our Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centre for 10 hours per week and Starbeck Baths 8 hours per week.

In this role, you will supervise customers in the pool areas, always remaining vigilant to ensure customer enjoy their time with us safely. You will be able to discuss safety measures with our guest confidently and be responsible for putting into practising lifesaving skills and first aid as and when it is needed.

Your working pattern in this role may vary, and we are currently open Monday to Sunday, between 6am and 10pm therefore weekend working will be required.

We are looking for those who:

• hold the NPLQ Lifeguard qualification
• have a keen interest in swimming and the ability to swim confidently
• showcase excellent communication skills
• enjoy working collaboratively in a team
• have the ability to solve problems by providing workable solutions
• are extremely observant and attentive

This role will require the successful candidate to have a DBS check as part of our clearance process.

Swim teacher

Location: Harrogate and Knaresborough
Salary: £17.12 per hour
Hours per week: Various
Contract type: Casual

We are looking for passionate swim teachers to join our team and help us deliver our fun and engaging learn-to-swim programme across our swimming pools on a casual basis. We have opportunities at both our Harrogate and Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centres.

You will need to have a Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification (or equivalent) and be required to prepare, plan and deliver swimming lessons for a range of abilities following the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim’ Framework.

You will also be required to use our online course management system on tablets on the poolside to record attendance and swimmer's progress and attainments.

Our swim lessons are held on weekdays from 4pm until 7pm and on weekend mornings from 8.30am until 11am.

No experience is necessary as full training could be provided.
