Children's diving lessons

The Harrogate Leisure and Wellness Centre (formerly The Hydro) is currently closed so that the council can carry out an extension and refurbishment of the existing facilities, including a new diving platform. Therefore, diving lessons are currently unavailable.

Diving is an exciting and spectacular sport. There's no reason why your child couldn't be the next Jack Laugher, Chris Mears or Tom Daley.

Our children's diving lessons take place at the Hydro in Harrogate.

With one and three-metre springboards and a five-metre board, we offer one of the most successful diving development programmes in the country.

Our qualified instructors follow the Swim England Diving Awards scheme. There are seven levels of progression from beginner all the way to club-level diving skills.

Lessons take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and on Sundays. For your child to start diving lessons they need to be aged at least six years old and be capable of swimming 50 metres.

Our prices

45 minute lesson £7
45 minute lesson £29.17 per month (monthly direct debit - spread the cost over 12 months)

Talent identification is a crucial recruitment tool for diving due to it being an early specialisation sport. As such, Swim England is calling upon anyone who may have an interest in the sport to get involved and see if they could become the next British Olympic champion.

DiveAbility

Our DiveAbility sessions run in conjunction with Harrogate District Diving Club and offer the chance for children with additional needs in our community to access the physical and mental health benefits of diving. Diving is a sensory experience and whilst learning a variety of diving skills we also help our divers make personal breakthroughs and learn skills that can be transferred to other areas of their life.
